Climate and nature conversations can help to create a culture of awareness and action. The aim of this campaign is to get 10% of the students and staff in your school planting a tree at home in their own garden. Students raise awareness in their school and community about the importance of planting trees for climate mitigation and adaptation as well as stemming the loss of nature.
During COP26 the ISSN partnered with Education for Sustainability, Fifty Shades Greener, Education Support Centres Ireland, WWF, VOICE and many other organisations to host a Climate and Nature Summit for Primary and Secondary Schools in Ireland. The pre-recorded sessions are still available and the are fantastic.
Nature made easy! Learn about one new living thing each week. Join a collective group of teachers for 15mins every Monday. We are bringing nature into our classrooms. Let’s reconnect with nature by learning more about the wildlife around us. At the end of the year we want you and your students to be able to identify at least 30 living things and know a little more about them. We'll provide you with a set of resources each week.

What you model and say as a principal or deputy principal trickles down into the mindsets of your staff team, students and the wider community. Showing visible leadership in sustainability demonstrates to your school community that you care.
